August FOTD (Faces of the Day)

I decided to put this post up as I noticed face pictures in my camera roll. I have noticed that through the month of August it has been all about a clean simple face with just a variation of lip shades and balms. In regards to hair I have to admit that with the weather I have maintained my hair in a back or top bun or straigh sleek with no volume. With this hair regimen I am keeping myself cool and my hair healthy since it has gotten very very limited styling and heat as well as chemicals from products such as hair spray and gels.

Want to look like you spent tons of time getting ready? Want to look different everyday?
  • Use studs, dangly, and various types of earrings (Have them handy for choices)
  • Change the position of your ponytail, do the top bun, back bun. Or play with a center or side part it makes a big difference.
  • Have a bowl with different lipsticks, balms, or glosses for easy grab and on the go. A new shade everyday makes you feel like a different person and can lift your mood.
  • Use scarfs, necklaces to change the look of your top. A simple white top can look totally different if worn with a necklace one day and a scarf later.
  • Be comfortable and smile.
I hope you will like this post just a reminder to give ourselves the time of day and display our beauty.

Friend Day: Adriana

Hello lovelies! Today I wanted to share a post with you all that is a few weeks overdue. I titled it Friend Day because that is exactly what it was a day to catch up with a great friend whom I met through our blogs. That friend is Adriana from Little Petite Blog.

She is such a sweet person and although we had met since last year through the blog-o-sphere we met in person late last year and I was honored when she said I was the FIRST blogger she has met in person! We took some time to hang out we are both busy with school, family, among other daily tasks that need to be completed.

We met up for some Yummy Chinese Food and then went to find a location for some infamous outfit of the day pictures. Adriana knows many good locations that are not crowded and shaded from the bright sun. After our photo session we headed to a coffee shop and did a little bit of shopping in the nearby shops as well as browse through thrift stores.

Being silly while shopping.

The only good picture of both of us.

It is truly a blessing to be able to share on this blog and it has become more of a journal as well as a way to meet great people who understand this whole blogging concept. I appreciate this outlet and I cant even count the true friendships I have made with many of you. Thank you xoxo

Phoenix Style Collective Networking Event

This Thursday I had the opportunity to attend a networking event that was hosted by a group called Phoenix Style Collective

The event was held at a restaurant called Hanny's which was a great choice given the history, the location, and the menu which were all superb. I was greeted by Kara from Sunshine Cupakes who gave us a scavenger hunt and things to go do while I chatted with other bloggers I met there. It was fun chatting up with some of the ladies and find out what their interests are what they like to blog about. Each had their own style and genre that they enjoyed sharing and we talked about the challenges of balancing posts while working full time, and challenges when learning a new camera or how to improve your photo skills. The evening went by so fast as we all mingled and kept the drinks coming as did our laughter.
